Hello V6GTO,that is a beautiful photograph of a Painted Lady.I love the way its front legs are crossed over each other around its tongue. The backlighting on the wings is great, really brings out the detail in the wing.I really like this photo, you must be very happy with it.
Cheers

Yeah - you should include it in the UK Butterflies website :)

Seriously - just send me an email (pete@ukbutterflies.co.uk) with any images you think are worthy of inclusion, including location and date info., and the highest-res image you have.

Very inspirational pic. I always did like backlighting :)

Cheers,

- Pete

Thank you for the nice words guys...it makes it more worthwhile with positive feedback.

John...it was cleaning it's tongue by pulling it up between it's legs. It did this several times.

Pete...I'll mail you soon :D

V6GTO,that's pretty cool that it was cleaning its tongue. It's great when you can get real close to butterflies & get to see some of their behaviour.
It will be nice for you to see your photo on the main part of this website.Well done :D
