ok was not sure where to post this, but seemed like a good place. I have started on 2 books which I am writing. These may take years to complete, but just wanted to do this. I don't know if they will get finished, but will keep adding things when I have time.

These books are on introduction to butterflies and moths, not showing any particular species from areas, just information on habitats, families, sizes, how the shape of the butterfly or moth is and other factors like this. Here are the two books I have in mind, first one already started: (Lepidoptera Nature Wonders) The book Part 2 will be on moths in general.

Book 1: Part 1: Introduction to Butterflies

Book 2: Part 3: Introduction to Micro Moths (nothing started yet)

I have decided to start writing a book on micro moths as they have facinated me for a few years now. There are many species of tiny moths where I live, and still have yet to get a good pic of any, but since there is not very much information on these tiny moths, I want to start writing about them and what they are.

Subject I am writing about in each book:

families, families, sub-families, tribes, genus, type and sub-species/form/aberration and similar. I write about each superfamilt, and sub family and tried to include a relevent image of a typical creature that would be found in that family, for example, in Satyrinae, the typical species that look similar to a lot of others would be the ringlets and meadow browns, so I am including images of them, and for blues, a common blue image etc...

any comments welcome. I know this is a big task and it will take a few years, but I want to do this whenever I can.

I dont wish to be critical but the title "nature wonders" doesnt sound quite right to me. "natural wonders" sounds better to me. I may be wrong but just wanted to suggest this minor difference

thanks, that does seem like a better idea. I am working on book reciently and at present just taking photos for it. Hopefully I am going to the USA this year, so I can see what I find out there to add to book.

Just wanted to post an update. I have been working on my book again and now have these sections in the book:

Numbers are wrong, I forgot Part 1 and made Part 2 into Part 3 instead of part 2, so I just need to fix this.

Part 1: Introduction to Butterflies

Part 2: Butterfly Classification (Families, Subfamilies and More) - this section goes into detail about how butterflies are classified and information and images on each family of butterflies and subfamilies within them.

Part 3: Immature Stages (The early Stages of a Butterfly) - This section is about the lifecycle of a caterpillar from egg, what caterpillars eat, how they protect themselves and even interesting facts and information regarding this stage of a butterflies life. Pupae stage is in here too. I have also shown the difference between Sawfly larvae and butterfly caterpillars here as I know like some, I have mistaken sawfly larvae for caterpillars.

Part 4: Butterfly Maturity (The Adult life of a butterfly) - This section will describe from the hatching from the pupae to the death of the adult butterfly. How they fly, camouflage themselves, mimicry, feeding, mating, egg laying and so on.

Part 5: Regions of the World (Habitats of Butterflies) - This will have information of every region of the world, including habitats found there like swamps, bogs, fens, deciduous, mixed and conifer forests, sand dunes, fields and so on.

I have about 100 pages done so far, just need to fill in a few things here and there.

Is is an image of what the front of each section of the book looks like (This is Part 5, all parts are similar, with an image showing that section off in background with text in foreground):
Part5.jpg
Here is Part 1 image (This will be Part 2, not part 1, Part 1 is Introduction to Butterflies) The image is of Real's wood white, I got last year:
Part1.jpg
Here is tree diagram I created showing how families of butterflies link together:

If anyone has ideas on what they would like to see in this, let me know.

Just a quick update on how my progress has been on writing my book. I now have 110 pages or so far, added a section on photography with some of my personal information added and I am adding a section on conservation too, so this book should be near 300 pages or more when its finished.
