Looks like one to me! I've found that the amount of "dusting" can be quite variable, and even found a couple of GVW in Bulgaria that seemed to have almost no dusting at all!

Of course, I'm always willing to be corrected!

Cheers,

At first I thought "Of course it is", but then...

There's something a bit Large White about it...

Final answer...maybe. At least there will be someone along soon who knows what they're talking about :)

It looks like napi possibly the form meridionalis in which the grey scaling is significantly reduced on both the upperside and the underside. The creamy yellow underside hindwing ground colour also fits this form. Meridionalis can also be pretty large too, larger than type.

Either way it's a lovely photo Paul...

Hi again,

Thanks.. I did wonder about meridionalis, I'd be very happy with that! Can't remeber it being very large though.

Hi Paul,

Well if we both think it's meridionalis then I suggest that it's safe to assume that it is.

With regard to the size, I consulted a couple of books and to be honest I doubt if one would really notice a difference unless one were looking at a series of set specimens.

Good find and a good foto!

Felix.
