Caterpillar in my veg

Don't know if this is the right forum, I have found a caterpillar delivered in my Organic veg box (local so I assume it is a native species). Does anyone know what it is and what to feed it, and how to care for it till I can release it when it becomes a moth / butterfly. I have put in one leaf from each veg I got delivered and it is living in small fish tank in my house.

I'd say Small White was the most likly culprit...

Well, there'll be no difficult in finding food plants then. :)
Isn't there some law against releasing classified pests? I know that you shouldn't release a captured grey squirrel, and they don't even eat your cabbages.

No problem with food, he ignored the leek and rocket but has been munching the spring greens.

So my next question is where to put the pupa / store it when it gets that far?

Thanks

Looking at that pic, I say it was a moth, not a small white, here is a small white cater: http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/image.ph ... EARED].jpg

Angle Shades moth? Small Angle Shades: http://www.ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=1474

Angle SHades: http://www.ukmoths.org.uk/show.php?id=3366

just a thought

It has recently emerged and is indeed an Angle shades moth, I released it at the weekend.

Thanks for the information
