Frits near Bergerac

OK it's winter. So I start looking at old pictures....

In 2005, I visited the Dordogne, just south of Bergerac, in last 2 weeks of August. Lots of small frits which I never really identfied, so opinions welcome. Sorry I don't even remember which ups & uns belong together!!! :roll: anyway, what do you think??? Heath/ Meadow/ Provencal/ Knapweed?????

In my opinion they are probably all athalia, with the exception of the second which is a female parthenoides.

In that region, parthenoides and athalia are the default Melicta species (none of these is Melitaea, in the old sense of the word) and you would need strong positive identification to claim deione, even though it's probably not rare there.

I await contradiction!! :)

Thanks.... I really found these difficult from the books, I shall label them accordingly!
