Suffolk weather

A week in Suffolk and I've seen the sun just once - last Saturday. Persistent, black, drizzly cloud has been hanging over East Anglia ever since and I've seen barely a butterfly. :( On the plus side, I've never seen the county look so lush and green in August.

Another plus today: this wryneck was hanging around at Minsmere, presenting fantastic views for many. :D This is a distant shot with a point-and-click Canon - I didn't dare approach the bird in case it flew and someone killed me.

Vanessids, including painted lady, red admiral and peacock were visiting the Buddleia too, despite smatterings of rain.

Just the norm for this year's summer...
All said and done, it's been a bummer.
August time, East Anglia?
Weatherwise, no Shangri-la.
Seeking leps, it's made one frantic,
As rain persists from the Atlantic;
Perhaps you're glad for what you had...
Dans la region de Gurniglebad?

Thanks, Bryan! I think your poems are improving...

I saw the best of Suffolk again today, with glorious weather and plenty of Vanessids around. Now I'm leaving for CH (wending my way there over two days, so I'll fall silent for a bit) I wonder if there will be an influx of Camberwell Beauties. I hope so, and look forward to reading all about it here.
