Photo Details

As a keen photographer, I love looking at all the excellent photos posted in various places on these fora.
Many are way better than mine.
I think we would all learn a lot if some more info was given.
Basically the EXIF info from the photo would be good, as it usually gets stripped out during the posting process.
I would love to see the following-

1/ Camera make
2/ Lens make, length and F stop
3/ Handheld, tripod or monopod
4/ Flash - type, position, and setting(s)
5/ Taking Mode - AV, TV P or M (or whatever)
6/ F stop
7/ Shutter speed
8/ ISO
and aything else we may find useful.
eg. - Metered on nearby foliage, set to M and then set aperture to underexpose by 2 stops, filling in with flash set to ETTL.

I know this will add to the time it takes to post some of your stuff, but, in my case I could just cut & paste for 90% of my shots-

Canon 30D, Sigma 180 4.5 Macro, Monopod, no flash, TV@1/150, f?, ISO 400. (just add the f stop after looking at Exif file)

Good idea? Bad idea?

That sounds like a good idea, since I cut and paste my stuff too there is no info on it. Will do it in future

Yeah - good idea! I can add a "sticky" post to the forum. But the list you've given is quite extensive. Is there a minimal subset you think we should be asking for? My set would be:

1/ Handheld or tripod
2/ Flash (yes / no)
3/ Aperture (F stop)
4/ Shutter speed
5/ ISO

Cheers,

- Pete

I think it would be helpful and interesting, I'll include that info next time I post an image 8)
