Potton Wood visited today specifically to look for (in wildest hope)
SW Fritillary. The weather was against me being mainly overcast and
sometimes drizzly although warm. Even so, hundreds of Ringlets and
Meadow Browns.

Then the sun popped out for two or three minutes and a single SW
Fritillary was seen.

Via main entrance at TL246497 and then just to left of main "cross
roads" in the wood. However, the habitat it generally very suitable
so I guess they could be found almost anywhere within Potton Wood or
the adjacent Cockayne Hatley Wood.

It was almost a surprise NOT to see any White Admirals in this
excellent locality.
