I have recently popped over to Reculver to see if any of the butterflies/moths I used to see as a kid were still around as they used to be.

In the only hour I had I saw

Essex skippers
Large white
Green veined white
Six spot burnet moths
Meadow browns
Small tortoiseshell
Small coppers
Marbled whites (these were never seen there 15 years ago and appear to have colonised very well)

As far as memory serves me the only missing species was small heath.

Regards
Steve
