A handful of white admiral were on the wing at Chambers Farm Wood on Thursday July 5th. I also saw plenty of comma, small tortoiseshell, red admiral, large skipper, ringlet, meadow brown, marbled white, small white and solitary painted lady and brimstone. Unfortunately the black hairstreak reported a couple of weeks ago appear to be finished. This is an excellent site for a wide range of species, thoroughly recommended for anyone living within striking distance of Lincoln.
