Lord's Wood

Post by Andrew Mc »

Sheer determination/desperation drove us to Lord's Wood today in the most unpromising conditions. For about five minutes the rain stopped, the sun shone and bingo - our first White Admiral of the year. I suppose they're as desperate to get out as we are.

That's the way I like to imagine it, Andrew, and their imperative is much greater than ours!

I visited the wood today. Last year I saw a single WA in the big bracken filled glade in the middle of the wood but today there was nothing there at all except a couple of ringlets. There were a few SWF in other parts of the wood.
