Yet another overly pessimistic weather forecast almost kept me in today. I'm glad I ventured out as I paid my first visit to these reserves and enjoyed a good deal of sunshine :)

There were more Marbled Whites and Ringlet than you could shake a stick at, not to mention Meadow Brown. No sign of Dark Green Fritillary yet.

Incredible colours, Bryan... what camera body are you using?

Hi Chris

It's a Nikon D50, bought on the strength of reviews when it came out, although I am by no means a camera buff.

It was that cloud-filtered sort of sunshine yesterday; 'brightness' rather than sunlight. I find this seems to give better results with butterflies.

Cheers,

Bryan
