Norfolk Swallowtails - seriously worried.

Remember that I come from Great Yarmouth (well, somebody had to!) and have followed the off-on saga of a river crossing for some 70+ years.  But only last week did I realise that the latest attempt at a third crossing has significantly blocked the River Yare - the only outlet from the Norfolk Broads.  I had naively assumed that the foundations would be entirely on land.

Had I been aware of this design (no doubt cost-cutting to require shorter bridge spans), I would have made every attempt to make the potential problems clear.

I have no idea how well Norfolk Swallowtails (pupae) manage in winter floods, but floods look increasingly likely with the new Herring Bridge at Yarmouth.  Incidentally, it's still not open to road use and inevitably has been nicknamed the "Red Herring" bridge.
