Possible large White ABB.

Hi, MIke Smith again, i did submit this post on this Forum but it never got posted. Anyhow this photo was taken in Purbrook (near Portsmouth) Hampshire 202. I did submit photo to " irecord " some months ago but have had no reply from them. So any ideas out there as to what this is, the nearest i could make it out to be is a Large White. Thanks again, Mike Smith.

Hi Mike.
That's a female Green-veined White. The females are often quite heavily marked like this. Here is one I saw at Aston Rowant in late July...
- female GVW
...with a female Large White seen close by for comparison.
- female Large White
The latter species is noticeably bigger, and the black markings are bolder and more clearly defined.

Hi Mike - no, this is well within normal variation for a Green-veined White. Here's another female (from the spring brood) for comparison.
