Hi everyone,

I believe that the Grayling is found in the New Forest. Can anyone give me specific details of a site? Preferably one with parking not too far away!

Thanks in advance..

The site I always use is Godshill near Fordingbridge. It's easy to find on a map as there is a cricket pitch on the other side of the car park. From the car park you cross the pitch and head down the hill. Check out the more open spots on either side of the path on the way down where the Bracken doesn't cover everything. Cross the stream and then look in the heather on the left hand side of the main path. I've also seen Silver-studded Blue, Small Copper, Dark Green Fritillary, Red Admiral here as well as the usual Browns. There are also some really interesting plants on the walk back up if you take the left hand fork as there is a little boggy slip near the top with Bog Asphodel and Sundew and check the track on the way up for holes in the ground. There are Potter Wasps and Bee Wolves here as well as a lovely parasitic Jewel Wasp. :D
Or you cold have a look at the sites section on Ashley Whitlocks website:

Hope this helps
