Northern Brown Argus - Favourite Photo of 2022

Week 11

Hopefully the rather large Nordic gentleman has paid you a visit! Happy Christmas one and all! :D

Please could I ask that everyone waits until a topic has been opened by me for a particular species before posting photos as then it will be easier to keep track of things? Of course our overseas members are very welcome to fill in the obvious gaps relating to rare UK migrants. As in previous years details of locations, dates, times and circumstances would be welcome as would any accompanying stories and anecdotes or other observations of behaviour and interesting other points.

Have a goodun

Visited my usual NBA sight in Grantown on Spey in mid June and took a second trip at end of June. Lots of fresh NBA on the wing. Merry Christmas 🎅🎄.

Caught up with some salmacis at the end of June. This female was particularly well marked

None seen in the UK, but quite a few in Europe, including this one from the Italian Alps in mid-June:

Meant to add this photo from my trip to Grantown on 27th June. The sun just made this shot sparkle.

Wow! Never noticed a brassy sheen on this species before, Bertl. Lovely individual.
