There was a report today on the Facebook Butterflies UK page of second brood Green Hairstreaks seen at a site in Monmouthshire. Screen shot attached. I don't know the chap who reported it.

Hi,
out of interest I have just returned from a Holiday in the Chanel Island of Jersey and had the same experience. On the 21st of July whilst walking the coast paths in the North of the Island I notice quite a few absolutely fresh pristine Green Hairstreaks all resting on ferns and drying their wings, and all looked very freshly emerged. I only managed a photo of one which was not quite as green and fresh as the others that I saw but they were down the cliff slopes and not easy to get too. Here is the one I took a photo of. I have never witnessed a second emergence of Green Hairstreaks in late July either, so was a nice surprise for me as well. Another surprise were a few Long Tailed blues in the sheltered areas flitting about ,one photo attached.
