I don't really know to start with this one: apparently there are 468 species of hesperiidae in Costa Rica and it doesn't have any particularly helpful distinguishing features. Nevertheless I shall put it out there in the faint hope there may be a Central American Skipper expert looking for an identification challenge on a quiet Sunday evening.

Hi Part Timer. I was hoping someone with local expertise might help you out and am mainly replying here to reactivate the question! Since neither De Vries nor d'Abrera cover skippers, the only book I have for this region is the Swift Guide (to Mexico and Central America, which claims to cover 90% of Costa Rican species). If you have that, you will already have narrowed the search down as much as I can. If not, I can give you my suggestions based on that. Although there are indeed hundreds of skippers in Costa Rica there actually aren't that many plain, orange grass skippers.
