With the weather here not so good at the moment I thought some of us would like to take a peek at some butterflies of the Kalahari Desert. It might cheer us up, or might make us envious! Some exotic Lepidoptera for a change. Someone on my lepidopterology forum has posted this article, I hope you enjoy it.

Great link, Phil, and thanks for sharing it.

Some hugely desirable species in those images, and nice to see the author using the term 'African Monarch' - Plain Tiger is simply too understated for this butterfly. Nice to see a Desert Orange Tip or two as well. :)

I'm glad you liked it David. I really enjoyed reading it, the author has a lovely way of writing and I must say I learnt a lot from the article. It's also nice for me to see a few more contributors on my forum. I've got members from Australia, Czech Republic, South Africa and the UK now and it is beginning to move along a bit. It doesn't feel as if I'm talking to myself anymore :) .

Thanks for taking a look,

Cheers,
Phil.
