Whats the point of different wing markings, of different sexes?

During a process of a male finding an appropriate female for mating with, specifically in video, how did the wing markings of a female, help a male find an appropriate female, to connect with her abdomen, not raised in the air, in rejection?
(The extra wing dots on a female's forewings, appeared to approximately line up with the end of a female's abdomen, in her usual position).
