Holiday in Forest of Dean

Post by George »

Hi guys,

We are off to the Forest of Dean for the first two weeks of June and wondered if anyone can help with good sites for specific species. These are:

Small Blue, Adonis Blue, Chalkhill Blue, SPB &/or PB Fritillary, Marsh Fritillary and I have heard about a colony of Glanville Fritillary at Sand Point - I think someone once offered to send me the precise location of these if they are stll there.

Your help is appreciated. :)

Hi George,

The Glanvilles have been reported from Sand Point this year, but as they were seen a couple of weeks ago it could be they are all gone by now (does anyone know better?)

AFAIK the only Gloucestershire colony of Adonis Blue is at Rodborough Common near Stroud in the Cotswolds, where they were supposed to have done well last year.
