Michael Blencowe has recently started uploading a set of beginners guides to the butterflies found in the county for the Sussex Wildlife Trust.

I appreciate that the vast majority of you know this stuff already, but there are bits on here that still help me as a bit of a novice for sure.

But my obvious enthusiasm has just started to rub off on my brother who has been sending me snaps of butterflies he's seeing in his garden in Hull for ID (Whites, Comma and Holly Blue so far), so I think this series is absolutely perfect to entice someone like him further.

Obviously the Sussex list isn't nationally complete and my brother isn't going to get a Chalkhill Blue in Airlie Bird territory but as a series of guides, I reckon Michael Blencowe has pitched this just right to get people interested in the wonderful world of butterflies.

Link to Episode 1 below. Episode 6 has just been uploaded. There's still a few species left so there will be some more.
