UK Butterflies Facebook group!

Post by Pete Eeles »

Recognising that some butterfly enthusiasts prefer Facebook as a medium, I've created a new Facebook group here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/576914769887362/

Feel free to join! This extends the 'reach' of the website, adding to the UK Butterflies Twitter account: https://twitter.com/ukbutterflies

You may be wondering why we need either Facebook or Twitter, given that we have the forums. In a nutshell, not every enthusiast will post here and, given our purpose, I think we need to reach out to the broader community - especially in terms of capturing, for posterity, useful images and insights that we can 'harvest' into the community albums that Vince manages which, I have to say, look amazing with the contributions that have been provided!

Cheers,

- Pete

This makes sense Pete, after all quite a few of the BC branches have a presence on Facebook and twitter. From personal experience, I see a lot of people posting on both of those platforms that don't post on UKB.

Cheers,

Neil.

Thanks chaps - yes, this is all about providing choice! As you may already have seen, some of the images that are making it onto the species pages are now coming from sources other than UKB (including both Twitter and Facebook!).

Cheers,

- Pete
