This green hairstreak was photographed today among bilberry and heather, high on the moors above Pateley Bridge, which seems to be the habitat they prefer in Yorkshire.

it flies in the daytime, and looks like a butterfly, it's a female emperor moth
waiting for a mate

Hi - my entry for the May competition. Taken at Bison Hill on 5th May.
Changed for this Common Blue on 20th May. And changed it again!!

Had a great day today! Found a colony of Wall less than a mile from the house, found this cooperative lady while it was raining and when I got home, there was a Wall roosting on my, well, wall!
