The Belfry, Roquebillière.
On our journey we take the road to the Col de Lombard , disappointing, not a single butterfly seen, giving that visit up as a lost cause returned the way we came and continued to Roquebillière.
The choice of pitch was determined by a large group of French schoolboys on a summer camp, it worked in our favour quite by luck, so we sat besides a group of buddleia bush’s, it was a gift from the butterfly gods, the downside was the continuous roar of our neighbour, a mountain torrent, so making the best of it, Hobson’s choice we settled for a break from driving tortuous mountain roads and planned the next move and watched a display of butterflies.
The Gods had also made their plans , three days of thunder !, so we have to wait for our next exciting trip, the Gordolasque valley , only for the most intrepid of Camping carists, access to the vallée des Merveilles and the Mercantour National Park.

We continue our journey were we plan to visit an old acquaintance, Roquebillière, we were familiar with this little town that we first visited in 2001 with our first Camping car, then it looked dowdy and run down, much has changed , it is now a very pleasant place to visit. On our journey we take the road to the Col de Lombard , disappointing, not a single butterfly seen, giving that visit up as a lost cause returned the way we came and continued to Roquebillière.
