Peacock no longer a butterfly

Post by JohnR »

I really hate to tell you that Inachis io is now a moth. There it was happily at home in my moth trap when I opened it in the morning. Photographs never lie, so here's the evidence

I've not yet had any butterflies in my moth trap myself but I have seen reports and photos of Speckled Wood and Red Admiral in moth traps before and even a Purple Hairstreak a few weeks back.

Cheers,

Neil.
