Thought i'd put a few pictures of a couple of beasties taken at the Dungeness RSPB Reserve , today . There is a well known colony of a rare bee ,just off the main car park The Grey backed mining bee ,which I believe ,only two known colonies in GB. one being at Dungeness.
I believe they were first noted there in 2009 , they are stunning little insects ,and we were amazed at just how quickly they managed to dig a hole in the sand bank and disappear !! One of the bees pictured was covered in pollen ,presumably from the Gorse ,that is everywhere .
The beetles which I've seen many times before are Green Tiger Beetles...……………….. enjoying the sun !
