On Monday 26th Phil and I visited Fermyn Wood, very few Purple Emperor to be seen on the ground and the only one I got a decent shot of was rather tatty...but not from this angle 
Phil managed a dream shot of an Empress and another was seen down later in the day
Fermyn was a regular rendezvous for us with Bill and we missed his good humour and insight on all things nature has to offer
