A couple of hours at Dungeness this afternoon, hoping for a few 3rd brood Small Coppers ,I managed 4 ,but that's 3 more than
last Sunday ,so keeping my fingers crossed for a few more .No second brood survivors today.
Lots of very fresh looking Small Heaths about ,and also probably 15 Meadow Browns on the wing ,all(bar one !) in excellent condition ,and all very small !! also found a pair in-cop.
Dozens of Large Whites ,with several egg laying females (on Sea Kale ),best of luck to the caterpillars trying to chew that !
A few Common Blue and Brown Argus "ghosts " and one fresh (3rd brood ) Common Blue male …...again very small. plus a single Painted Lady.
Regards Allan.W.
