Sam and I shall be rolling in on the 1146 from Clapham, e.t.a. Shawford is 1255. See you in the pub shortly after that folks! :D

Having just looked up the actual pub (I thought it was the one next to the station, which it isn't!), it's about 1.8 miles from Shawford station (see below).

If anyone wants a lift, I can drop by the station on my way. I can take 4. First come, first served. And let me know your time of arrival and mobile phone # :)

Cheers,

- Pete

A couple more have dropped out apart from Vince so we are back down to 14.

If anyone needs a contact telephone number and doesn't already have my mobile phone number drop me a pm this evening. I probably wont check my messages tomorrow though before I leave.

Unfortunately my daughters have been poorly all night. At the moment they seem a little better and I should still be coming but if I don't turn up it's because they've got worse or I've gone down with the lurgy myself. :-(

Oh dear, it's all falling apart at the seams. Good effort Susie and the others. At least you have had more good intentions than my attempts for an eastern England winter jolly - just one possible taker so far.

Hardly!

By my reckoning there are still at least 13 people going and at the moment I am good to go too. :D

Hi Susie,

Just to say a very BIG thank you for organising today which I felt went very well in a really good location.

It was also good to put faces to names even if some of them were a bit rough!

Kind regards. Mark

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along and made this afternoon such a success. I had a lovely time in your company and hope you enjoyed yourselves too. :D I'm relieved that the pub turned out to be such a nice place and the food so good. Phew! God bless the internet!

Special thanks to Pete, Gary and Lisa for all the hard work they put into this forum, without which we would not have all met.

It was really nice to meet RobS and Wurzel for the first time and great to meet up with Gibster, Sami, Phil, Roger,Chris, Mark, Philip and Pauline (Mrs PJ).

I look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Agreed.
It was so good to meet up with old friends, and meet some new ones.
It just reinforced my belief that butterfly people are (mostly) excellent people.
Great afternoon.
Thanks Susie.

(I haven't made any speeling mitsakes have I?)

Haha! Seth's face is completely pixelated in Susie's photo and E.T-esque in Pete's! Poor unphotogenic Gibster ;)

Was lovely to meet those I haven't previously, and see some familiar faces too. And the food was as excellent as the company! Not to mention the real ale....

Hope we can all meet up more often. I might even show my face a bit more regularly on the forums!

Thanks to Susie and the gang for a lovely day, and for Philzoid's company on the long dark march to the station! Best wishes to you all.

Sami :)

Yep, a superb meal with good beer. Oh, and some butterfly enthusiasts too! :D

Finally made it back into Epsom via Clapham Junction 2hrs 40mins after leaving the pub. Would've been home a lot earlier but the local taxis don't start until after 8pm (we'd left ourselves insufficient time for the walk back to the train station) so we opted to wait for the next train. Then Phil wouldn't drink up quickly enough and we missed that train too!

Really nice to meet a few more UKB Members. I don't want to sound soppy, but seriously - I haven't met a bad one yet!

Thanks to everyone who made it possible. More of the same please!

Gibster.

Lol! Yes, he hasn't come out very well in the photos, has he?! Whereas you're looking radiant. :-)

Good job he's handsome in real life or it wouldn't have been love at first sight for you and you wouldn't be marrying him! ;-)

It was good to hear about the planned future of UK Buttterflies and that it (we) now have a mission statement. It's clear that it's in very safe hands.

Onwards and upwards! :-)

A bit late perhaps to be posting this but better late than never!

I had a cracking time yesterday. It was great to put faces to names/avatars and discuss things with people who know what both they're and you're talking about. It made a nice change to talk butterflies without people around you rolling their eyes :D

Great choice of pub, I was very impressed with the beer, thanks for sorting everything out Susie!

Have a goodun and hopefully see some of you out and about next season (if not all and before)
