Hi! Wurzal, every time I go to Lytham I've to visit the pond and take a look at the Statue :D Depending on when you go season wise the Statue looks different some how, this time he's raking the leaves :D
Glad you liked the pic's, we've had some great Sun sets here this week and no rain (famous last words :D it's bound to rain now) it's been a lot cooler though, nearly time for the Christmas Tree's Goldie :D

We've had some nice weather up here recently , nice sunny days, so on Wednesday we went for a walk at Pennington Flash, I expected to get lots of photos of different birds, instead I got shots of Deer, :D it's the first time I've ever seen them at the Flash, there's not so many trees for a start so I'm thinking may be they've just been introduced there :?:

I did get some pictures of birds, once again the Herons were there I counted six in all,. they were all grouped together on a small piece of land. Also some birds down by the Lake I've still to name yet.

They've forecast snow on the hills for tonight so we should get more birds coming into the garden shortly Goldie :D

My Christmas as come early this year :D My husband has bought me a new computer, he say's it's the only thing that keeps me quiet  so it's well worth the money :D

It's so different from my old one, it's going to take me a while to get used to it ( I'm not well up with all the new technology) I hope it improves my view of the photo's I take on my old one (which seems to be dying more and more each week) I say my view knowing that if the photo's I take are no good the computer won't make any differance

Any way I'd just like to wish every one on UKB a very happy Christmas and New Year and roll on Spring :D Goldie :D

HI Goldie,
The shots at East Blean were taken in 2013, that must have been a good year.after the area near the car park
we searched a wider area but found very few more.
Best wishes for 2015,

TREVOR.

We returned from Kent after having a great Christmas to be greeted by the the first snow. After 2hrs stuck in traffic near Stafford where an accident held up the Traffic has did the Rubber Necker's going the other way it was just great to arrive home and enjoy a cup of coffee chased down by a small Dram to warm us up  We did enjoy the Sunset on the way but not as much as the small Dram  Goldie "HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY ONE" :D

Sounds like you had a bit of a nightmare journey, Goldie.

Nothing like finally getting home though. Thanks for the sunset shots - very atmospheric.

Happy New Year and good hunting in 2015!

It's quite a while since I posted in my diary, the weathers been so bad, rain, hail, snow showers, it's the first time I've missed taking at least a few photo's of birds at this time of year but even they have kept a low profile, (the wind has been so strong they've struggled to fly), any way i've had time a look back over my photos and I feel really pleased that I finally got to see the Silver Washed Fritillary and get some reasonable shots last Summer, before that I'd only seen one that was in Denge Woods Kent a few years ago and it was quite tatty so when I saw them in Bently Wood it was a real treat. :D
I've posted a few photos, not too long to wait now before Spring arrives Goldie :D

Great "Ginger Beasties" Goldie - they certainly brighten up a cold winters day :D I drove past the turn off to Bentley today and stared longingly at it, until my wife pointed out that I was almost in the car in fronts boot   :D

I've been looking back over some of my Small Copper photo's and remembered I took one of a SC that looked to have eyes looking back at me :D ( strong colour) although it also seemed paler with age so this may have caused it , I do look to have one with Blue Spots also, so may be I've got a Blue Badge Wurzel :D Goldie :D

Hi! Mike, thanks for the confirmation It's always good to get some thing a bit different, we seem to get a lot of variations a round here, at Hall-Lee-Brook where I took these photo's I've had quite a few even in my back garden I've had the Red Admiral with the extra spot, I've put it down to the weather up here in the north :D

We've still got snow here, I decided to walk into town this morning and there was so much ice it was bad walking,( I needed the fresh air) I thought to take some shots but it was too cold to mess with the camera. I was told it might be good for Butterflies to have some cold conditions, don't know if that's so, if it is they should do well round here this year so far :D Goldie :D

Thanks Wurzel, we seem to get a lot of aberrations round here I'm beginning to think may be it's much colder and causes these changes like the very cold weather we had a few years ago when I saw the white Small Pearl Bord/Frit at Gaits Barrow, they said that was caused by severe weather changes.?

Talking about weather, I went to visit my cousin in Rossendale on Thursday, we'd had the snow and our avenue was very icy but when I saw the Moors they looked lovely, not quite on a parr with Guy's photo's  but still like a post card :D

I took this shot of some Gold Finch in the back Garden with the Starling . My husband fixed the tray so more of the Gold Finch could feed, their certainly tucking in. :D

The Snow's gone now but was here nearly all week on and off, still soon be Spring :D Goldie :D

Wow, you've really had a fair snowfall there, Goldie.

Makes me quite envious tbh. Down here in Swansea, we've seen only 2 proper frosts and no white stuff whatsoever.
