I'm sure some members are wondering "what on earth are this mob on about". So - some explanations:

Clue: "After taking advice from http://www.anti-aging.org/, no more disparaging remarks were made about this critter."
Answer: Removing "aging" from "disparaging", and you're left with "dispar" - the specific name of the Large Copper.

Clue: "I spend some time upset about the weather, later I skirt the woodland which holds this creature."
Answer: "the weather, later I skirt" is an anagram of "White-letter Hairstreak".

Clue: "As I am a logical lad, creating this question is easy."
Answer: "am a logical lad" is an anagram of "Ladoga camilla" - the scientific name of the White Admiral.

I'm thinking of two butterflies. If one is a hundred-eyed monster, the other is presumably a fifty-eyed monster. What are they?

Well, the hundred-eyed monster (in Greek and Latin fables) was argus. And the fifty-eyed monster would be "semi" argus

So - Silver-studded Blue and Mazarine Blue.

Her friend PADDY was no help in the quest to identify.
Cousin FIONA fared no better nor did next door neighbour SAUL.
Hedda was exasperated. She could find no help at all.
I know, she thought, just where to go. She climbed the mountainside
To seek a scholar and his friend and have this lep identified.
The people in this small sad tale were completely unaware
That the rearranged letters of their names would reveal the famous pair!
