Thanks Susie :D It was either this or a Brimstone as they're special to me too. Brown Hairstreaks are stunning too so you made a good choice for yours :)

I have given this some thought and have come to the inescapable conclusion that it looks like a Rorschach ink-blot test. This is used by psychologists to try to examine the personality characteristics and emotional functioning of their patients. It has been employed in diagnosing underlying thought disorder and differentiating psychotic from non-psychotic thinking in cases where the patient is reluctant to openly admit to psychotic thinking.

The voices in my head are telling me to stop now.................................and get my coat

me thinks you may just have a slightly over active imagination vince

its quite obviously a mustelid footprint of some description, maybe stoat or ferret! i kept ferrets as a boy, wonderful litte creatures and so affectionate too.

well either that or it might be a section of the forewing of a species of british butterfly, but thats pretty unlikely 8)

gary. happy new year!

What is the diagnosis if for every ink blotted card a person looks at they think it looks like a butterfly or part of a butterfly, Vince? :)

If every ink-blot looks like a butterfly, then you are as sane as every other UKB member. You only need to worry if none of them look like butterflies

Happy new year everbody,

Vince

Nice one Lee. It's very bold and very striking ...................and probably the most that anyone will see of a butterfly for the rest of this month.

Roll on April.

Vince

P.S
I have just realised that if you tilt your head to the right and squint a bit, it looks like a scene at the end of the film "Jaws".

Thanks Vince.

I think you might be right, it sure is a late one this year.

It does a bit.... I guess that means we're gonna need a bigger boat!

Cheers
