At last I am able to reply ~ apparently some of my cookies had gone to pot denying me access and I've just discovered this and deleted the rascals...

Yes, my lengthy reply has disappeared beyond recal but, I can now tell you that the Blue was indeed nausithous.... they were at rest on the heads of their foodplant and not flying much ~ it was a dull day quite unlike the mainly glorious weather for the rest of the three weeks trip.

Roll on spring ~ those Brimstones, Peacocks and Tortoiseshells have got it well sussed ~ there's alot to be said for hibernation ...

Nausithous doesn't fly much at the best of times, but just sits around on the sanguisorbe heads, almost always with the wings folded!

Get on their website to avoid the open day. In good weather there are always quite a few people there - the open day gets very crowded...
