It's a great impersonation, and a great picture.

They were doing rabbits not so long ago:

PS - Saturday night in downtown Huémoz and there's not a legless bird to be found. :(

Although I have seen a brimstone, a small tortoiseshell and a peacock butterfly so far this year, none have allowed me to photograph them. So, today I decided to go back to try to find the very odd pheasant I saw the other day near the river in Cambridge, in the hope of getting some better shots. I was in luck as the bird was there and I even managed to dodge the showers...

The pheasant ( which has an extra top bill?!) was creeping around in a field and I managed to get pretty close without spooking it. I couldn't believe my luck, as he then walked up onto the top of a fallen tree trunk and displayed in all his glory. A strikingly beautiful, but very weird bird!

Nice pgeasant Trev. I am not sure if I have seen that before on a pheasant. I'll ask my dad if he knows what it is, he sees pheasants every day.

Two from garden (shot through window) both are getting more common in garden. I couldn't go outside to get shots as my dog was outside and would have disturbed me (He never bothers the birds, they come and go and he just sits and watches them)

Guy about the Starlings, they can appear to do funny shapes if you just sit and shoot lots of shots as they move about, your more than likley to see them make an interesting shape.
Cheers all,

Bizarrely at our local Natural History group meeting on Friday one member reported a pheasant regularly in their garden with exactly the same double bill here in kent!
