David,
plenty of the Bramble flowers near me are just coming out. Just east of Cardiff, so not too different from yourself. All the same, shame the weathers gone a bit dismal in the last week...

It's been pretty dismal for the last fortnight. It's hard to believe than just 150 miles further east it's 5C warmer and almost permanently dry!

If I was a gambling man (actually I am - but we'll let that pass) I'd lay good odds that I saw a Purple Hairstreak today at Haddon Hill in Somerset.
No photo, just a glimpse as it "hairstreaked" it's way up an old oak......
