Yeah Happy Birthday Zonda! 60 years young eh? Its not about how old you are, but how much experiences you have had in the time you've been around that really count IMO, but being 21, I have not been around to have enough great experiences yet, only a few good ones anyway.

Wasn't it Walt Whitman that said, 'Everybody's ignorant, just in different subjects?' I'm only half educated, and by no means worldly, i said that. ' I'll let you be in my dream if i can be in yours', Bob Dylan said that.

Tell that to this guy: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20090922/tod ... 0a197.html, he is 113 and said
"Remember that life's length is not measured by its hours and days, but by that which we have done therein.

Wow! 113 years old. We should be studying his genetic make-up thoroughly. Tragedy of his life must be no kids or grandkids, in a way that is a failure, although fate might have intervened. At his age he could have been surrounded by offspring. :(

I certainly don't consider having no children to be a failure. :!:

Personal choice, my bit to bring down the world population, not wishing to leave my offspring in this horrible world, plus I can't stand the little beggars, are all good reasons not to have kids.

I tend to see things from a very Darwinian aspect. I can see your point tho. :D

Despite my dislike of children, the horrible little things love me. A while back at one of the places I work as a gardener, the 7 year old came up to me and said "we can't play with you today as are cousins are coming". The next day the little blighters were all having a tea party, but were struggling to set up a umbrella, I eventually went over and sorted it for them. But then their cousin a 5 year old in a fairy outfit asks me " are you a adult".

There's little room for Darwinism in civilised society, otherwise I would have ruthlessly slaughtered all the other young males in my village, ruthlessly mated with all the young females, and would have loads of offspring by now! As it is I live in a village with a tiny population of elderly people, have one partner, and we're "Dinky's" (dual income, no kids yet).

I can see that Darwinism has it's plus points mind you...

Felix.

Hya Felix, you said:

Can i call into question, the word 'civilised'. Time to look around you, i fancy.

Many 'thinking' people can appreciate that 'mankind' is a species of great ape.
However, very few people can see themselves as one. :D
