Sami says they arrived at 18:04.
That means that they would have had to depart John o' Groats not earlier than 07:48 on Monday to equal or beat my journey-time challenge of 34 hrs 16 mins.

But they hadn't even got to John o' Groats by that time on Monday. My sums might be wrong but it does looks as if another donation will be on its way.

So well done again. But at least I didn't have to fork out for the "Naked Rambler" challenge.

We actually made it in 48 hours and 4 minutes.
Got to JOG at 4pm on the 6th, had a pint and started hitching at 6pm.
We slept at a man's house that night who had given us a lift as we didn't realise we had to sleep on the wing!
We started early the next day and hitched all day, sleeping for 6 hours in our tent next to the motorway junction and starting again the next day.
We got to Land's end at 6.04pm yesterday, after 18 different rides and another brilliant adventure :)
So if you take our sleep off we've done it, but if we go by the rules unfortunately we didn't beat your challenge :(
But we had lots of fun doing it!

Well, the JOG to Land's End time wasn't quite in accordance with standard rules, but that wasn't clear. I have compromised and added another half of my original donation.

Seth/Sami, please let me know how many species you recorded and I'll up my donation accordingly.

Very well done. Your effort has been truly Olympian.

Great stuff Sami.

Paris to Hungary - are you mad?! Don't answer that - I think I know the answer :)

Cheers,

- Pete

Well done Sami!

Paris to Hungary sounds wonderful! Or how about following the course of the Rhône from the Camargue up to its source high in the Rhône Glacier in Switzerland. That way you could call in chez moi ...

You're both inspirations.

Very good Sami. Shame that the presenter seemed to think that his own voice was more important to the listeners than yours – hardly gave you a chance.

And come on guys and girls. While I haven’t been over-generous, it would need fewer than another 100 donations of a similar amount to reach the target. Every little helps.
