Wurzel perhaps we should invent a word for moth pee. I don’t know how trustworthy my internet search is but have read they do t pee but can expel excess fluid.

Whatever you decide to call it, Katrina, it is an extraordinary shot. I have never seen that before.

I went to Lancing this morning. It was chilly when I arrived and at one point I could see my breath.
Later it warmed up and Paul arrived shortly followed by the long-tailed blue and then Lindsay.
I saw 2 long-tailed blues before I had to go . Also seen were Walls, Red Admirals, Speckled Woods , a Comma, a Holly Blue and a few whites

Brilliant stuff Katrina - you've caught the blue flash excellently

Good to see you today . No more showed up in front of my camera after you left but the Red Admirals and Walls kept me entertained.

A very nice LTB, Katrina - it must have been a shock for it to wake up to such low temperatures! At least that meant it opened right up to make the most of the sunshine. Great photos. Their wings have such amazing texture to them!

I think we were a little lucky with this one.

I was given this book at Xmas. It is fairly short and has beautiful drawings of Painted Ladies.
I learned they have ears at the base of their wings.
Quite a lot about what was known historically and now about migration.

I went to Mill Hill this afternoon and saw Peacocks, a Brimstone, a Speckled Wood and a white I didn’t get close enough to identify.

Wow - what a beauty. Peacocks are undoubtedly dazzling when freshly emerged but I prefer them in spring, when they’ve been toned-down to perfection by the passage of time. Yours is a great example.
