Isn't that interesting! I have been using the Avon product for years,particularly against mosquitoes and "The Midge".I always thought it contained geranium oil,which appears in many of the natural animal products.Perhaps this is the chemical name for it.
Regarding DDT it disappeared not so much because of indescriminent spraying,as it had to be sprayed everywhere,but because of its effects on wildlife and humans once it entered the food chain and was stored in fat (and ended up in eggs).Lorexane,a similar product,was more long lasting and excellent against fleas.These were replaced with the permethrins,and in my opinion you could not find a more deadly lot.We also have all the ivermectin family now,whose effects on wildlife are even worse.So,thank heavens for Avon,I ordered four of their sprays last week as they were on offer!
