Post by Mike Young »

This is the March 2008 competition. Please read the competition introduction at:

http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/phpBB2/v ... .php?t=991

To enter the competition, please post a single reply to this message (1 post per member). You'll be able to edit your entry until 5th April.

Please note the "theme" – “Butterflies and People”!

Good luck with this the last of the themed competitions until next autumn, next month (April) we are back to an "Open" competition.

That's a pretty little moth, Dave.
Continuing with fingers, here's a marsh fritillary from Priddy Mineries. Taken with Canon S3 compact with fitted close-up lens.

I generally bin photos where my digit is involved!!!!! can't do sandals either!! ( Brill photo) but first time I ever saw this character he buzzed me then disappeared, leaving me wondering what I'd seen  ( never seen a Purple Emperor!).... he promptly returned, flew round me several times & landed on my shorts ( ex swimming pool). :D :D :D .... so, still never seen a P.E. but this Lesser P.E. was still momentous for me!!! in the words of Bart... "eat my shorts!"

I've changed my picture, now there are so many super ones of lepidopterists in action!

Superb specimen with not a scale out of place and a very nice picture of it indeed!

Hatched one of these out myself when I was a kid and have recently reared and hatched indiam moon moths.

Taken years ago on my old Samsung Digimax... I'm pushing the theme a little here. Does it include Butterflies and Dead People??
