Chequered Skipper now on the wing @ Glasdrum

Not my sighting but just to let you know that CS (& a few PBFs) was recorded on the wing at Glasdrum on the 15th.

Timing of emergence is interesting. Unlike many species which are now on the wing earlier than historically, Chequered Skipper seems to emerge today at similar dates to those of some 40 years ago. My first ever sighting of a Chequered Skipper (circa 1976) was near Fort William on 20th May.

Interesting, Jack.
Perhaps northern parts of the UK are less affected by global warming than southern parts of the UK, or the continent.

it's been a poor Spring here this year. My garden moth trapping is really behind. There often seems to be a difference between the weather in North of England & Scotland vs that south of a line ~Warrington>Hull
That area in Lochaber already has a microclimate so it may be even less affected by changes?
