Dormancy in Small Tortoiseshell help please

Post by Torimages »

Hi I hope someone can help please. We had a butterfly in our bedroom high up in the cornice which has not moved from late September until this week. My husband and I were both in shock as we thought it was dead. When it started to flutter round and now has settled again near our loft hatch. Please can someone explain in laymans terms is this normal? should we do anything? is it alright? We have lived in Somerset for 10 years and never seen this before. :D

Hi Torimages,

Go to the FAQ page at http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/faq.php and see the second item listed.
