Spanish Festoon

I shall be going to the Algarve early next April, based at Silves. Does anyone know a reliable site for SF within 40 miles or so?

The place is alive with them. Probably the most common butterfly when I was there a few years ago end of march to early April. Will send some details when home Wednesday.

Looks like spell checker again. I guess the place "Silves" that Tony asked about was auto corrected.

I certainly found Spanish Festoons in several places mid-Spain many years ago. Isn't the Spanish name for them "Harlequin"? (Or is the French)? Anyway, a delightful name for a delightful butterfly.

For info, the Spanish Festoon is called "La Proserpine" in French - don't know in Spanish.

Edit : You're right Jack, in Spanish it is the "arlequin"
