Can anyone identify these butterflies seen in Iseo northern Italy in September.

First and third look like a faded Lesser Purple Emperor. The middle one is a male Silver Washed Fritillary.

David is right. The lesser purple emperor is form clytie and appears to be a female, though I am not 100% on that.
