High Brown Frits - South West Wales?

Hi Guys (and Gals!)...
I realise it is a VERY long shot, but I may be in South West Wales at some point during the flight season of the HBF this summer. In the Philip's Guide to Butterflies (J A Thomas) I have seen a small area marked off on the North Pembrokeshire coast, somewhere near Cardigan, where they are/were known to exist.... I cannot find any specific sites though. Does anyone know if there are any sites in that area where one might be spotted, or whether this probably refers to the odd random sighting? If the information is sensitive, perhaps someone could even PM me.
I always try to find some new butterflies when I'm in an area of the Country new to me and there HAS to be more of a chance than in Cambridgeshire

Hi Trev,

I don't personally know of any sites and, as you say, any that are would be possibly very sensitive.

However, on your way from Cambridgeshire, you could call in at the Malverns

I had thought of having a gallop on the Malverns on my way there, so that does look favourite at the moment. Just wondered if the little brown patch in the book had a name though... hence my post.

Hi Trev,

The maps in the 2000-04 Atlas suggest the butterfly has died out in this area. They are still found in south Wales, but on private land - it may be that the local BC branch organises visits.

54 were seen on 19th July, although it looks like these sightings were on private land:
