Skipper ID.

Post by Nigel Kiteley »

I've been busy cleaning up some old hard drives as the weather has been so bad for the past couple of days and I came across this skipper photographed in Spain back in August 2012. I was wondering if it's a Cinquefoil Skipper (pyrgus cirisi) due to the joining of the two rectangular marks in s2 and s3 on the upper wing. All of the other markings look good for Cinquefoil but I'd like the opinions of the resident experts.

Thanks in advance.

Everything is good for male cinqfoil skipper and I'm pretty confident that is what it is.

Thanks very much for the confirmation Guy, that's a lifer for me that I didn't realize I had. Far too many files to sort through and these were somehow overlooked.

Thanks again.
Nigel.
