Heath Fritillary sites in Essex

Post by Essex Bertie »

Met a gentleman at Thrift Wood today who had travelled long distance to see Heath Fritillaries. Please note that this site, along with Hadleigh Great Wood/Dodd's Grove, is currently unreliable.

I've just had news from Little Haven of an 'event'. Many hundreds of larvae seen in early spring

I was at Little Haven yesterday. Starvelarks wood produced a count of half a dozen (although it was only a swift visit). Certainly not like 2012, when I had a count of 100+ on one visit.

The flight period seems to be nearing its end already.
