Large Skipper

Post by Tony Moore »

Looked for LS today and was pleased to find a couple of early (for Staffordshire ) ones.

I watched this lady resting for a few minutes, after which she began fussing around the Cock's Foot stems. She stopped for no more than a couple of seconds and a quick look at where she was sitting produced this fine, fresh egg. It is quite absurd, the level of unalloyed pleasure that attaches to the discovery of something so small  .
