Panama caterpillar

Post by rags »

Is there anyone who could help me ID this caterpillar please?

It was found on the Pipeline Road in Panama. I have been unable to identify it even though it has a very distinctive 'lambswool' appearance, (or as my wife puts it "Mr. Pastry's mustache.") I would be very interested to know what butterfly or moth this would become.

Thanks.

Further internet searching, found it, thanks anyway..."Puss moth"

I think probably caterpillar of the southern flannel moth (Megalopyge opercularis).
